MORE OFFSHORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES AS RMU PARTNER GH OFFSHORE LIMITED

The Regional Maritime University (RMU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GH Offshore Limited, an affiliate of Genesis Oil and Gas Services focused on providing marine transportation and offshore support services to Ghana’s oil and gas industry.   The purpose of the collaboration is to share knowledge pertaining to the Maritime Industry and its output that will promote offshore career opportunities for RMU students.  The signing happened on Thursday, 20th October, 2022 at the University’s campus.

The Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Jethro Brooks W. Jnr, (signing on behalf of the Regional Maritime University and Mr. Kwaku Aning (signing on behalf of GH Offshore).  

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Ag. Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Jethro Brook W. Jnr. expressed hope at the new partnership between the two institutions. He indicated that both the RMU and the GH Offshore share a common goal of supporting the advancement of offshore

activities in the sub-Sahara region. He continued that, the University is expertly positioned in supporting the Maritime Industry with qualified and trained personnel to complement industrial needs. He hoped that the MOU would enhance the University’s proficiency in its support to the Maritime Industry. 

Speaking on behalf of Offshore Limited, Mr. Kweku Aning added stated that GH Offshorehas developed series of intensive courses for students and staff to enable them take on high value engineering and supply chain management roles on or offshore. He further indicated that the focus of the partnership with RMU, is to support the training of local and foreign students of the University with the hope of sustaining a growing market demand for highly competent and qualified personnel in the Maritime Industry.

Under the terms of the MoU, GH Offshore shall provide, on-board its operated vessels, technical apprenticeship opportunities for selected students of the Regional Maritime University. RMU and GH Offshore will work closely in light of this partnership to support and develop graduates of the University for local and international job openings.
