Dr. Jethro W. Brooks Jr., PhD, M.A., B.B.A., A.A

Acting Vice Chancellor, Regional Maritime University.

PROFILE:

Dr. Jethro W. Brooks Jr, is an Honorary Fellow of the Regional Maritime University (RMU). He has over thirty-five (35) years working experience in addition to sixteen (16) years of experience in education, organizational and institutional restructuring, design, and the improvement of business processes. Over the years, Dr. Brooks Jr., has been involved in several research extensions and academic assignments. 

Dr. Baboucarr Njie, B.A, M.A, Ph.D.

University Registrar, Regional Maritime University.

PROFILE:

From his experience as the former Director of Planning and Quality Assurance and Deputy Registrar (Academics) of the University of the Gambia, he has since been rooted in Implementation of Institutional Academic Policy and University’s Regulatory Framework. Dr. Njie is credited with realigning the Administration of the University to meet International Standards.

Dr. Denis Njumo Atehnjia

Provost, Regional Maritime University.

PROFILE:

Dr. Denis Njumo Atehnjia, a Maritime International Civil Servant and Senior Lecturer, is an Alumnus from the Regional Maritime University. He was appointed Provost of RMU in 2020. Prior to joining the Regional Maritime University as a Lecturer, he worked as a Senior Maritime Administrator in the Department of Maritime Affairs and Inland Waterways, Ministry of Transport, Cameroon. He was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to study PhD in Maritime Engineering with specialization in Shipyard Construction and Building in Liverpool John Moore’s University, UK. Dr. Atehnjia was nominated by the Ministry of Transport, Cameroon, to undergo further management studies in South Africa and Australia on Ocean. Governance and Sustainable Fisheries sponsored by Commonwealth Scholarship Australia. Dr. Atehnjia was the Liaison Officer for industrial attachment in the Marine Engineering Department and served on various committees in the Regional Maritime University.

Ms. Vania O. E. Thomas, ACCA, B.Sc., MPSM

Director of Finance, Regional Maritime University

PROFILE:

Ms. Vania O. E. Thomas is an Astute Member of the Regional Maritime University Management Team. She has cumulative work experience of nearly two decades in Ghana and overseas, which straddle very important sectors in the Public and Private Sector, Academia, Local and Government. Prior to her Appointment as Director of RMU, she served as Director of Accounts, Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) and Accounts Officer, Public Financial Management Reform Unit, an Institutional Reform and Capacity Building Project (IRCBP) in Sierra Leone where she doubled as Project Accountant for the SLMA (ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development Project on Jetty Construction and Rehabilitation).
