Report on RMU’s success in the preliminary stage of the 2024 Gas Challenge

The Regional Maritime University (RMU), represented by Team Ethane, has achieved an impressive third place in the preliminary round of the annual Gas Challenge – Innovation Edition, organized by Ghana National Gas Limited. This year’s competition emphasizes innovation in the gas sector, encouraging participants to develop groundbreaking solutions.

In the preliminary stage, RMU was among 12 participating institutions tasked with addressing two (2) thought-provoking questions designed to test their expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills in the gas industry. RMU’s outstanding performance secured a score of 70.90%, placing them in the top three (3) and ensuring their advancement to the semi-final stage.

The semi-final round will see RMU compete with five (5) other top-performing institutions, continuing their pursuit of excellence and innovation within the gas sector. RMU’s success in this competition reflects the university’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in energy solutions.

  1. Takoradi Technical University – 81.52%
  2. University of Mines and Technology – 76.03%
  3. Regional Maritime University – 70.90%
  4. Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology – 69.27%
  5. Kumasi Technical University – 63.53%
