Career Guidance for Twenty Ladies Under Naa Dedei Botchway / Ga Mantse / RMU Scholarship Scheme

On Saturday, 7th August 2021, a career guidance was organized under the auspices of                       Miss Naa Dedei Botchwey (NDB), winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful Pageant in 2020 and the Ga Mantse Girl Child Educational Foundation in collaboration with the Regional Maritime University (RMU) to inculcate in the ladies the needed conscientization as they undergo training in Marine Engine Mechanics (M.E.M).

Resource persons included Rose Antwiwaa Osei; (Sales Manager, DataBank), Nii Boi-Dsane; (Life Coach) and Mable Madjikie Madjie; (Communication Specialist). These selected ladies qualified for the NDB/ Ga Mantse scholarship, and in June 2021 they began the training in earnest in Marine Engine Mechanics with the prospect of taking up jobs as seawomen after completion.  They are expected to complete the training in September 2021.

The training programme follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between RMU and the winner of the Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant for 2020, Miss Naa Dedei Botchwey / Ga Mantse foundation on 4th June, 2021.

The MOU was signed by Professor Elvis Nyarko (VC of RMU) on behalf of RMU, Justice Sarkodie Mensah (Rtd), Chief of Staff, on behalf of Ga Manste and Miss Naa Dedei Botchwey on behalf of NDB foundation.
