The acting vice chancellor of RMU calls for financial support towards the university’s scholarship fund

The Acting Vice Chancellor of the Regional Maritime University (RMU), Dr. Jethro Brooks Jnr. has called on stakeholders and industry players to help provide financial support towards the University’s scholarship fund which was launched in 2022. He made this call during an interview with the media concerning the University’s upcoming 65 years of existence as a university and 40 years of regionalization anniversary to be celebrated in October 2023.

According to the Ag. Vice Chancellor, the University has tabled series of activities to commemorate the anniversary including a fundraising dinner which will be held at the Best Western Beach in Accra. The activities, he added, will proactively add to the finances of the University geared towards expanding existing lecture halls, upgrade laboratories and provide financial support to brilliant but needy students. He therefore emphasized the need for stakeholder participation and financial support in all activities of the University. He also encouraged prospective candidates in the sub-region to enroll into the University’s programmes adding that the University has instituted measure to ensure student employment after a successful completion of study.
