To enhance job prospects for students and interested members of the public, the Language Centre of the Regional Maritime University, in collaboration with Alliance Française of Accra, Ghana, (the only institution accredited to hold examinations endorsed by the French government as well as the only examination centre for all the DELF/DALF diplomas), is organising the DELF/DALF International Examinations. Students are prepared to take part in Examinations scheduled for March and September every year. RMU’s first batch of students presented for the March, 2018 examination are out successfully!
The DELF/DALF (Diplômed’études en langue française/Diplôme approfondi en langue française) are French proficiency certifications for non-native speakers of French awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency in the French Language. The Alliance Française in Accra is one of the Educational Institutions set up by the French Embassy to give tuition and award Diplomas of such caliber in most countries.
The DELF and DALF are composed of six (6) independent diplomas that correspond to the language levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They are:

These diplomas are independent of each other which means that candidates can register for the test of their choice that best corresponds to their level without having to take the lower level tests. For each level, four (4) different language proficiencies are evaluated, i.e.: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The DELF /DALF examinations certificates are valid for life and are recognized throughout the whole world making them the best way to officially certify one’s level of proficiency in French for personal and professional purposes.

- ABILITY TO READ AND WRITE ONLY (without any prior knowledge of French)
- Persons with prior knowledge of French who want an upgrade
