
A delegation from the Regional Maritime University (RMU) participated in the 5th Annual National Precision Quality Conference held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
The RMU delegation comprised the Head of Research and Innovation, Dr. Robert Nyemah, Head of the Vocational Skills Training Center (VSTC), Ing J. F. Tetteh, Marketing Officer, Dr. Salifu Jobe Marketing Officer and Assistant Registrar Administration, Mrs Patience Adoku.
The conference, organised by the Design & Technology Institute (DTI), brought together stakeholders from government, academia and industry, representing both public and private sectors. It was held under the theme, ‘Human Capital at the Heart of Ghana’s Economic Growth’. The event provided an important platform for networking, where the RMU delegation engaged with key industry players, exchanging ideas and exploring potential areas for possible collaboration.
Delivering the keynote address, the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, spoke on the topic: “Improving Labour Productivity and Enterprise Competitiveness through a Human Capital Development Framework.” He underscored the importance of investing in human capital as a foundation for sustainable economic growth. He urged academic institutions, including RMU, to actively contribute to national efforts in human capital development.
The Minister further emphasised the need to reshape educational curricula to align with job creation and the evolving demands of the labour market.
In her remarks, Mrs Constance Swaniker, Founder and President of DTI, noted that the conference provided a platform for bold, transformative ideas that could influence national policy. The event featured panel discussions, exhibitions and interactive sessions, all aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation for national development
