Jethro W. Brooks JR., B.BA, M.A.

Pro-Vice Chancellor

Mr. Jethro W. Brooks Jr is an Honorary Fellow of the Regional Maritime University. He has over ten (10) years of Experience in Education, Organizational and Institutional Restructuring, Design, and Improvement of Business Processes. Over the years, Mr. Brooks Jr. has been involved in several Research Extensions and Academic Assignments.

Profile

During the course of time, he provided Management Consultancy for the Execution of several Management and Administrative Training programs. These include the Ministry of Health of Liberia, the Medical Emergency and Cooperation International (MERC 1), Swedish Poly Clinic, Ministry of Public Works of Liberia, GTIZ of Liberia and the Road Transport and General Workers Union among others. Additionally, in 2013, he headed a Committee of Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs that reviewed the country’s Freshmen and Sophomore Tertiary Curriculum. His Strategic Management Experience, involvements and Corporate Governance Span Private and Public Sectors. At the Regional Maritime University, Mr. Brooks Jr., has been involved in an entire range of Administrative and Governance structures through which the University manages and delivers its services. He has exercised oversight Responsibility from the implementation of the Budget to ensure that institutional financial practices meet National and International Standards.

Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree in Management, Cuttington University, Liberia
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Associate of Arts Degree, Stella Maris Polytechnic, Liberia.

Achievement:

Prior to his Appointment as the Pro Vice Chancellor of Regional Maritime University, he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs, Stella Maris Polytechnic. An evident Achievement during his tenure was the successful introduction of a Bachelor of Science and Economics, an Educational Enrichment Program for Secondary School Leavers. A major achievements during his tenure was the productive fostering of intellectual increase of the total Student’s Enrolment over 100% from eight hundred  and twenty-two (822) to two thousand, two hundred (2,200), by the year 2010. Here at the Regional Maritime University, Mr. Brooks Jr., has been involved in an entire range of administrative and governance structures through which the University manages and delivers its services. He has oversight responsibility of the Implementation of the Budget to ensure that Institutional Financial Practices meet National and International Standards.

Research:

Over the years, Mr. Brooks Jr., has been involved in several Research Extensions and Academic Assignments. ‘The Impact of Waste Management on the Residents of the City of Monrovia-2007, among many, account to his several research extensions. He headed a Survey Team that Conducted an Impact Assessment Survey on ten (10) Health Centers in Monsterrado County on behalf of the Medical Emergency and Relief Cooperative International (MERCI)-2003.  He also led a Team of Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs of Liberia and Revised the Curriculum for the Freshmen and Sophomore at Tertiary Levels on behalf of the National Commission for Higher Education (NCHE).
